Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil | A non-greasy emollient carrier oil, that is rapidly absorbed and mimics the skin’s NMF. Apricot Oil has a high Vitamin E content; it can aid in retaining the skin's elasticity, clarity, and suppleness. It is comprised of approximately 75% Oleic and 20% Linoleic Omega Fatty Acids. 

Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil | A non-comedogenic, moisturizing oil that softens and smoothes dry skin. Safflower Oil is rich in Linoleic Acid, an essential fatty acid that helps to keep the skin’s moisture level up and barrier function intact, while assisting in dissolving existing blockages. 

Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil | Usually extracted from the seed of a ripe avocado fruit, this emollient is rich with essential fatty acids and contains a high content of Vitamins A, D and E.  Avocado Oil is known to have one of the highest skin penetrating abilities of all plant oils. It can also provide soothing relief for many conditions including parched skin, rashes, eczema and sensitive skin.

General Theory [Cleansing] | Toxins and pollutants in the air are on the rise, which - coupled with the layer of sunscreen and cosmetics we apply daily - has increased the need for a true and proper cleanse. Even during sleep, oil, dirt, and bacteria accumulate and affect our skin, so cleansing in the morning and at night is very important. Generally speaking, people wash their faces for approximately 20 seconds. This does not allow enough time for the cleanser to actually breakdown or emulsify the dirt and sebum. Cleansing the eye area is especially important as this area tends to carry more bacteria, so using cleansers gentle enough for the skin and eye area are important things to consider. Cleansing is actually a very mild form of exfoliation and can help to keep the pores open so that oils can be secreted properly and not build up, while still allowing the skin to retain moisture.

Doctors and aestheticians agree that using a soap-free cleanser is essential to skin health. Soaps are not required to list ingredients and also have a very high alkalinity range of 9-11 (skin’s natural pH is 4.5 -6) which strips the natural protective barrier and quickly leads to sensitized and very dry skin. Gentle, pH (potential of hydrogen) balanced; soap-free cleansers will help to prevent surface dryness, a very common skin condition. If the surface of the skin is dry, the pores close and enlarge as oil builds up underneath and become clogged, creating congestion and an overall dull complexion. This surface dryness can also cause pulling and stretching of the skin, ultimately leading to the formation of lines and wrinkles. 

“Like attracts like” with the use of a creamy cleanser. The oils contained in the product emulsify the sebum, dirt, and debris enabling the water to rinse it away leaving skin cleansed and hydrated.  Non-foaming cleansers are best suited for all skin types including oily and ultra sensitive skin.

Application | Mix a pea size amount of cleanser with ample water. Apply to face, neck, and décolleté in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly. Repeat, if desired. Pat skin dry. Follow with toner. Use morning and night.
