General Description | This light-weight resurfacing complex works within the skin to smooth skin texture, remove clogged pores, lift pigmentation, and minimize fine lines. The Retinol Anti-Wrinkle Complex is ideal for those with congested, sun-damaged, and/or aging skin.
Featured Ingredients:
Retinyl Acetate | An antioxidant derivative of Vitamin A. Once absorbed into the skin, Retinyl Acetate is converted to Retinol, and ultimately to Retinoic Acid, resulting in increased cellular turnover and production of collagen/elastin.
Retinol | A pure form of Vitamin A, as it is absorbed through the skin it is converted to Retinoic Acid. Retinoids stimulate cell turnover, inhibit melanin production, and boost collagen synthesis resulting in a more youthful appearance.
Glycolic Acid (2.5%) | An Alpha Hydroxy Acid that exfoliates the skin by dissolving the intercellular glue that binds dead skin cells (corneocytes) together. It reduces the dead skin build up that is responsible for many common skin disorders. Glycolic Acid enhances the skin’s ability to bind moisture by activating the skin’s own hyaluronic acid. When using a Glycolic Acid, the skin will appear smoother, healthier, and more youthful.
General Theory [Retinoids] | Best suited for sun damaged, aging, and acneic skin. Retinoids are recommended in a low dose, for periodic use. Retinol uses enzymes in the skin cells to convert this whole molecule Vitamin A into Retinoic Acid. Retinoic Acid encourages communication between the cells so the aging cells continue the renewal process (desquamation). Its benefits also include reducing P. Bacteria and increasing collagen production.
